Whether you’re a regular Fantasy 5 player or new to the Michigan Lottery, you can find out more about the game with these frequently asked questions.
Ticket sales for the Midday drawing close at 12:49 PM ET, reopening again two minutes later for the next draw. For the Evening draw, ticket sales are available until 7:08 PM ET. Again, they resume two minutes later for the next draw.
Drawings take place every day at 7:29 PM ET.
Ticket sales are available for each day’s drawing until 7:08 PM ET. After a brief halt, they resume for the next day’s drawing.
Fantasy 5 is easy to play and just requires you to select five numbers from 1 to 39. You also have to decide whether to add Double Play and/or EZmatch. See the How to Play page for a complete guide.
Double Play is an extra draw that you can enter for another chance to win prizes. You play the same numbers, so you don’t need to do anything else apart from select the Double Play option. Double Play has a jackpot of$110,000.
EZmatch is an Instant Win feature. A set of numbers will be generated on your ticket, and if any of these are the same as the numbers you have picked, you win a prize. Payouts range from $2 to $500.
A single Fantasy 5 play costs $1. You can add Double Play for an extra $1, while EZmatch also costs $1.
You have to be at least 18 to play Fantasy 5 in Michigan.
You can enter up to 60 draws in a row - that’s every day for more than eight weeks.
You can win $1, $10 or $100 for matching two, three or four numbers. To win the jackpot, which starts at $100,000, you have to match all five numbers.
Yes, the jackpot rolls if nobody wins and can keep on growing until someone matches all the numbers. There is no jackpot cap or rollover limit.
The biggest jackpot ever was worth $963,040 and went to a ticket holder from New Baltimore in June 2024.
Fantasy 5 jackpots are paid as a lump sum. There is no annuity option.
Yes, if you win more than $10,000 you would have to give your consent before the Michigan Lottery could disclose your identity.
The overall odds of winning a Fantasy 5 prize are 1 in 9. Your chances of winning the jackpot are 1 in 575,757. Go to the Odds and Prizes page to find the odds for each category.
You can claim prizes in several ways, depending on how you play and how much you have won. In most cases you can claim in-store, but for larger amounts you might need to mail in to the Michigan Lottery or visit a claim center. Go to the How to Claim page for more information.
Prizes above $5,000 are taxed at federal level and at the Michigan rate of 4.25 percent.
